Scarlett did fantastic in her first lesson! Gracie was a bit spicy in the beginning and it was clear Scarlett was a bit scared. We worked around the ring practicing having control through walk, halt, & turning. After a few minutes her confidence was back! I made sure Scarlett knew that as long as she could stop Gracie she could go any speed! We proceeded to trot the arena and then focuses on controlling with our legs! Scarlett worked the poles left and right understanding how to control her horse. Eventually she applied that to barrels and learned what pocket is!
A great lesson. Very excited for our next one!
